Brooklyn Darkchild is a 48 years old mother of nine with a lifelong passion for writing. A New York transplant born and raised in (you guessed it) the borough of Brooklyn, Ms. Darkchild has called Cincinnati her home for the past thirteen years. Why I Wrote This Ain't No Hearts and Flowers Love Story
I have always been a voracious reader,
but when I got really sick in 2003 it took my reading to a whole 'nother level.
It wasn't long before I started to think I could probably write better stuff than I was reading.
The best book I read during that time was Disappearing Acts by Terry McMillan.
I could relate to Zora and all the things she went through.
THAT was the type of book I wanted to read; a love story with relationships like
the ones me and everyone I knew always seemed to find ourselves in;
a love story where:
people yelled and screamed and said things they know they'd Live To Regret;
people broke up their lover's stuff in fits of rage;
people loved each other deeply yet couldn't get past their own emotional baggage;
people can't seem to live with each other but can't seem to live without each other either.
A love story where love DOESN'T Conquer All.
